I got to try out the NEW Morgan 3 wheeler,

powered by a a 2000cc tuned Harley engine,

through to a single back wheel!

Highly entertainng, and like trying to control

a box of Frogs!!....

I smiled from the minute it started to the minute I turned it

off, but NOT for the faint hearted!!

Thankfully my new heart is NOT faint!...

Hard going!...

by The Squirrell 30. October 2011 20:27

The last few days have been a test for the new internals!

Gutted the garage, reinsulated all the roof, insulated and panelled

the walls (To stop damp/condensation!)

Even painting the floors (Only half done so far) in preperation for

the new car that arrives (Hopefully?!) next week!!

I am exhausted...Everything hurts, back, knees, legs, arms,

BUT NO CHEST PAINS! (Still astounded by the transformation

in health my transplant has given me!)

Lets home the new car appreciates it!!

What a great night out!!...

by The Squirrell 18. October 2011 20:07

I bought 2 tickets to "We will rock you" (The Queen musical.)

Sadly Jane was not up to going, due to the impending baby!

(Due Mid November - Watch this space...)

I took my Dad, at short notice! WE LOVED IT...

We had a GREAT night out, and the cold walk

back to the car did not phase the Mk2 Heart!!

What a great night out!....

Strange....

by The Squirrell 14. September 2011 00:12

Just realised (After the loss of the Aston Abroad.)

My Bentley has now also gone abroad...

The Australian who is driving her, just sent pics!

(Note new plates!)  :-(

Sad reflection on our economy, that we are loosing our motoring

heritage and identity to others abroad, as we can't afford to run

and maintain our OWN classics??

:-(

To pastures new!....

Sold to a "Foriegn Bidder"...

Sadly, a part of Britains motoring history is off to languish

in Saudi collection, and never see a British road again!...

Wish she'd stayed in the UK....

:-(

Sad day...

Said Bye Bye to the old girl as Mum, Dad, and I

dropped her off at Bonhams...

Had a lump in my throat, as I handed keys over to

Auctioneer!

Bye Bye old girl... x

Prescott 2011.....

by The Squirrell 15. August 2011 23:52

Dad and I had a great day out walking around the cars

at the 2011 VSCC (Vintage Sports Car Club) meeting at Prescott.

Have a look at some of these Vintage (And valueable!) Cars!!

Heart propelled me around all day, up and down the paddock,

back and forward to the start etc without missing a beat!!  :-)

Stephen K Amos....

by The Squirrell 23. July 2011 14:38

What an unconvential, but fun evening!

I booked us tickets to a "Comedy Gig" in Bristol....

The venue, a "Big Top" marquee on Queens Square Garden/Park.

The evening was fine, and warmish, we sat and had a drink, then

watched the (HILARIOUS) Stephen K Amos (and support acts.)

The heavens opened, but as the rain hammered the tent, it made it

bizarrely more cozy!

After the gig, there was a "Silent Disco" !! I'd not seen it before, but

so as not to upset neighbours etc, everyone is given headphones

(like ear defenders) and the music is sent to you direct, so no loud

music, and everyone hears the same, so you boogie...

It's not until you take them off, or see the bewildered

onlookers, you realise what a surreal sight it is as a voyeur!!

Great night, and despie the cold/rain, I no longer get so cold it

takes days to warm up, like I was pre Transplant!!.....

About Matt.

My name's Matt. I was born with a congenital heart defect which hampered me in my youth, and sadly became a terminal conditon recently, and beyond the (amazing) care of the BRI-Bristol Heart team.

In 2008, my condition deteriorated, to a point I was happy to see Xmas 2008. I had prepared to die.

Then in January 2009, a late night phone call from QEH-Hospital Birmingham changed my world, when they offered me a heart transplant, if I could get there pronto!!

6 months on, after a rocky start, I am still alive, thanks to them!

Read on to see how my new life is taking shape, and my adventures to date!....

Matt.
