NEC Classic show....

by The Squirrell 13. November 2010 13:39

The boys and I went ot the NEC today, for the Classic car and bike show!

(Thanks to JC, Toadstool, Gouldy, The Westbury Grabber, for a great day!)

We drooled all day, and spent to much on things that "Will one day will be useful"

(Reads: "Never get used, and sold on ebay in 2 years time"!!)

I walked all the halls, without a break and my ticker did very well

(Better than my poor legs!)

Here's a snippet of the cars/Bikes on display....

Flu?...And feeling poo!

by The Squirrell 3. November 2010 16:32

What a bug!

I have been in bed for almost 3 days, with raging temperature,

sickness, aches, pains, headache, earache, sore throat, cough,

chest infection (On anti biotics though now!)

When these bugs get in, with low immunity, us Transplant patients

get hit harder and faster than normal it appears?

But I had my flu jabs, and some bed rest seems to be shifting it.

QEH, were on hand and helpful to help me and the GP choose an

antibiotic which was compatable with my current pills! (Big Thanks Brian!)

Lets hope the squirrel is back, scampering about soon?! (Sniff, cough!)

About Matt.

My name's Matt. I was born with a congenital heart defect which hampered me in my youth, and sadly became a terminal conditon recently, and beyond the (amazing) care of the BRI-Bristol Heart team.

In 2008, my condition deteriorated, to a point I was happy to see Xmas 2008. I had prepared to die.

Then in January 2009, a late night phone call from QEH-Hospital Birmingham changed my world, when they offered me a heart transplant, if I could get there pronto!!

6 months on, after a rocky start, I am still alive, thanks to them!

Read on to see how my new life is taking shape, and my adventures to date!....
